Simple Example of Generated Texture

New Image menu The following is just to demonstrate some features and menu operations in XFader, particularly when generating a tile completely from scratch. Since these generations are based on random seeds, you won't be able to duplicate the result, unless by chance you land the same combinations, as it were. So - starting from scratch. New image.

Color Select menu In the New Image menu, clicked on the "Background color" title bar and this window shown at left appears (full window not shown here). Typed in the HTML color/code as 008C44, and pressed OK.

Generate filter shown on top of resulting tile

Generate, Wood (or the third button from the right). Generated a 'wood' texture. Clicked on the little icon at mid-right, to select an XFader gradient preset - Petrification - as shown. Clicked on the "Color" title bar and typed in 008800 for the HTML color. Set the other sliders and boxes as shown (clicked the little arrow next to Relief (18%) and set All Channels and a smaller angle).

You might try out the various methods, like Darken, Overlay, etc., as most generate an interesting alternative. Even as the initial pattern is random (based on the default gradient color scheme), using Petrification, press Randomize a few times, and then go back to the Default gradient, just to see what happens. You'll notice the colors stay about the same. Try switching over to other gradient presets. Try Randomizing a few times and changing the method, say to Normal, or Screen. And so on. Continuing . . .

XFader Tools Menu (Stars decoration selected) Tools, Decoration (or the 5th icon/button from the right), to add some stars. Set menu as shown. Could have repeatedly pressed Randomize to try out different looks. Check mark to save changes.

XFader Tools Menu (Relief filter selected) A little relief. Filter, Relief, or second button from right and select Relief. Set menu up as shown, and saved changes.

XFader Tools Menu (Wave 3D selected) Finally, the ole Wave 3D, set up as shown, CTRL-R a couple of times, until it looked like this:
